When pressed, a member of the owning family protests that they're "not made of money."<br /><br />Yet this same "not made of money" owner wants to raise the rent on dozens of tenants by 31%! What does she think that there made of?<br /><br />I live a few blocks away and walk my dog by the building often. The folks who live their include retirees and working families with small kids. They live through substandard conditions, getting minimal help from the city when they complain.<br /><br />If the family that's managed this building since 1958 thinks that their profit margin isn't high enough to provide a decent building for the tenants who've made their homes there, then maybe they should sell the place. There are many other companies in this town that aren't slumlords.Mattnoreply@blogger.com
